Hello everyone! Or maybe I should say Jambo rafiki!

I hope that you all are doing well. Our team arrived in Sakila, Tanzania yesterday and we are getting some well deserved rest.

We had quite a time traveling from all over the US. Minneapolis, Seattle, Austin, and New York City is where we all came from, and luckily we only lost one bag in transit. Somehow we were able to get it literally as we were entering the park gate to start our climb.

The climb on Mt. Kilimanjaro was a success with all but one person making it up to the summit. It was a daunting task to say the least. I remember talking to a team member once we reached the top about how slurred and slow our speech was, and it was slow indeed. We were also able to leave the mountain with two individuals that did not vomit at any time, neither of which was yours truly.

Tomorrow our group will be going to an orphanage in Arusha to bring them a meal. We will then spend the rest of the day with them. For the rest of the week we will be going to an AIDS center, and then back to the orphanage.

Hopefully I will able to post some more throughout this week. I love you all and miss you dearly!

George
