...and we're off.
Friends and Family,
Our team’s departure is fast approaching. To be very honest up until this point I have not had a lot of time to think about the trip, but the time has come and the bags must be packed. Those of us who are located in the MPLS region will be departing today at 3:15pm and will touch down in Nairobi around 7:00pm on Friday. From there we will spend a night at the Nairobi International Youth Hostel and leave early the next morning for Kilimanjaro. On the 15th we will start our climb and will reach the summit on the 19th.
I want to thank everyone who has supported me thus far in this endeavor both financially and otherwise. I simply would not be in a position to do this without you all. I especially want to thank my mom for worrying about me. Her constant barrage of nagging has helped make me conscious of possible snags and dangers that could be lurking in the dark. *Note Mother, this is not an open invitation to continue nagging... I assure you that everything will be ok. Also I would like to specially thank Capella University and Thomas Pink for so generously supplying monetary compensation for my services that have enabled me to travel .
