About Me:

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Texas in Austin but recently moved to Nashville,TN to intern with a GirlForce. GirlForce is part of the Vanderbilt Medical Center and works to help pre-teen and teenage girls have healthier lifestyles (exercise, nutrition, smoking prevention & positive body image). I will be finished with my Masters in Health Promotion in May 2008 and then who knows what's next....

Why I'm involved in Venture Expeditions:

I wanted to do something different this summer. I have done a few sprint distance triathlons and a marathon but have not tried a multi-day bike ride. I wanted to take part in a multi-day bike ride that would help those in need. After reading about Project Rescue and their desire to help girls and women that have been sold into sexual slavery, I was overwhelmed by the need and suffering. In reading about the Ireland Cycling Tour, I realized I could help Project Rescue by taking part.

Wow...I'll say it again...wow

I wanted to add a quick blog post and trip summary....

TEAM
Our cycling team consisted of Jimmy, Stephanie, Kelly & Kris.

TRIP
We started riding pretty soon after I landed in Dublin...June 23 (I was a day late b/c I missed my flight to London due to bad weather in Nashville).
