- Why I'm involved in Venture Expeditions:
- I have been so focused on achieving my career goal for the past 8 years. I wanted to become a major airline pilot, and I did just that. Shortly after being hired by US Air, I was laid off. As bitter as that was, I was blessed with another airline job a month later in an economy where jobs were scarce. After only 6 months there, I was laid off again. I am also recently married to another pilot who has the option to take an unpaid leave of absence. I want to live and to give! I want to do something extraordinary with my time of unemployment. Although we will not get paid, I know an experience such as this will touch our souls (and hopefully somebody else's soul in this great world) in ways that we have not yet known. Before we start a family and have to return to work, we want to pay back the world for all our blessings. My faith is strong, and I want my husband to gain that faith too. I think an adventure like this is a win-win for all involved. We will see places that we never dreamed of while helping others. I am thrilled to find this organization!
